We are the Young family. A couple in our 30’s with four young children and another one on the way. We are adventurous, spontaneous, all-or-nothing kind of people, with a longing for freedom and independence and an undying commitment to put God first.
In 2020, after 40 days on the road in our travel trailer, we decided to return home, sell our house and continue to live as nomads until we found a place we wanted to plant roots. Ultimately, out of our home state.

A year later, after lots of research and planning, we ventured out for several months on the road. We traveled to 14 other states on this trip in search of a place to call home. There wasn’t a single place we visited that gave us a feeling of peace and longing. We returned home at a loss on where we were meant to be.

We considered selling the business my husband started 18 years ago and starting completely over with something new. We thought about moving the business but had to consider the loss of relationships and nearby suppliers that would slow down production, not to mention the large fortune it would cost to put all the equipment on several semi-trucks to make the move. These just didn’t seem like wise choices to continue multiplying the talents God has given us.

In the time since we sold our house and started living on wheels, most of our families had already left the state or started down their own paths. We are about to be the last ones in the same place we started. A remnant of sorts. “A remnant is a left-over amount from a larger portion or piece, whether it is food, material from which a garment is fashioned, or even a group of people.”
It can be discouraging to think of yourselves as the “leftovers” until you realize that God seeks out and preserves those who are ready and willing to follow Him regardless of the direction that everyone else is going. Throughout the course of history, God has always left a remnant.
“Once more a remnant of the kingdom of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above. For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. “The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.”
2 Kings 19:30-31
Within a week of accepting that we are already where God wants us, we came across our dream property that is more than we ever could have hoped for and were able to acquire it through a series of incredible “coincidences” that we just knew was God’s leading.
We plan on being that band of survivors that take root where we are and lays up fruit in His Kingdom and we’re holding on to the promise that…
“The seed will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will produce its crops, and the heavens will drop their dew. I will give all these things as an inheritance to the remnant of this people.”
Zechariah 8:12
